A few years ago I was suffering from skin irritations all over my body and couldn’t really figure out why. I researched it and found out all the chemicals that go into commercial soaps and couldn’t believe the amount of chemicals that go in them. Artificial surfactants, lathering agents, dyes and harsh preservatives were all pressed into these “soap” bars. I found someone online selling real soap, soap made by processing an oil blend with lye, a process called saponification which turns the oils into soap through a chemical process. It’s the same process your great grandmother or grandfather used to make their soaps, just more exact and refined. The end result is a real soap that only has a few ingredients that is very soothing and easy on the skin.

I researched the process and made my own and couldn’t believe the difference in how my skin felt. I began to perfect my recipes and my family and friends became interested and wanted to try my soap. It wasn’t very long until family friends and their friends wanted me to make them soap as well and Beaver Branch Soap Company was born…
